Magic‘s February 2012 small set, Dark Ascension, is scheduled to be released on February 3rd, 2012. Pre-release events will be held on January 28-29, Launch Parties on February 3-6, and Game Day on February 25-26. It is the second set in the Innistrad block. Dark Ascension's development code name was ‘Rattle' and its official three-letter code is DKA. The subtitle 'Command the Night' and will be a 158 card deck. This is only slightly larger than Mirrodin Besieged was at 155 cards. It's fair to assume that we will see a new version of the planeswalker in the set. It's up to you, Planeswalker, stay back in fear or "Command the Night" with Dark Ascension!

Dark Ascension Single Preview

Faithless Looting has now been revealed as the exclusive preview card for Dark Ascension. It’s a very interesting red version of Careful Study, which is the same thing for a single blue mana, except this has flashback. So it’s a pretty darn good card, with plenty of good combos. The card, “Faithless Looting” will be a playable card with alternate art by Karl Kopinski, which is also used for the cover of the comic issue.
